Circular to all members

Following several years of strong and sustained growth across products, markets and geographies, we are making changes to Skuld's organisation to position us for our next phase of growth.

Our current structure has served us well and has contributed significantly to Skuld's success. However, as our business and ambitions continue to evolve, we must ensure that our organisation does too. The changes are designed to further enhance the value delivered to our members, clients and brokers by strengthening the structure for co-ordination, increasing resilience and supporting Skuld's long-term ambitions. The changes take effect from 1 November 2026.

Changes to our organisation

The changes include adjustments to Executive Management responsibilities, a revised Business Unit structure, and the gradual integration of our hull capabilities into the Business Units.

Kristian Løberg will move from his role as Chief Financial Officer to Chief Underwriting Officer. At the same time, we warmly welcome Oda Bjerketvedt Norderud as our new Chief Financial Officer.

We are establishing dedicated global leadership roles across our core product areas. Lars Dueled will serve as Global Head of P&I, Paul Fry as Global Head of Hull, and Christofer Kobro as Global Head of Energy. They will report to the Chief Underwriting Officer.

Our new and reinforced Business Unit structure will report to the Chief Underwriting Officer and comprise:

  • Skuld Nordics, with teams in Oslo, Bergen and Copenhagen, led by Kristoffer Kohmann.
  • Skuld Europe, with teams in Oslo, Hamburg and Piraeus, led on an interim basis by Lars Dueled, pending the appointment of a permanent Business Unit leader in Europe.
  • Skuld UK & Americas, with teams in London and New York, led by Paul Fry.
  • Skuld Singapore & Japan, with teams in Singapore and Tokyo, led by Nick March.
  • Skuld Hong Kong, led by Patrick Wang (Wei Fan, as of September 2027).
  • Skuld Energy, with teams in Oslo, London and Singapore, led by Christofer Kobro.

As part of our succession planning, Wei Fan will succeed Patrick Wang as head of the Hong Kong Business Unit in September 2027. From that date, Patrick Wang will assume the role of Chairman of Skuld Far East Ltd.

The global business development team remains unchanged, with the following reporting to Gregory Thomas, Chief Business Development Officer:

  • Mathew Burton – US & Americas, global focus
  • Matthew Bayman – South-East Asia, Japan, London
  • Thea Thorstensen - Europe

Each local office in Skuld will maintain its strong local leadership, close relationships with members and brokers, and the high service levels in our markets. The following represent Skuld’s heads of offices:

  • Skuld Oslo (Nordics): Inna van Spriel
  • Skuld Bergen: Ove Roll
  • Skuld Copenhagen: Krester Krøger Kjær
  • Skuld Oslo (Europe): Mudit Singh
  • Skuld Hamburg: Thomas Bjørn Larsen
  • Skuld Piraeus: Charlotte Valentin
  • Skuld Tokyo: Jinsung Son
  • Skuld New York: Aase Naaman Jensen

The established structure and dedicated leadership in our local offices across Claims, Defence, Casualty, and Technical Management remain unchanged.

A more integrated offering

We expect the new structure to improve co-ordination across our Business Units and regions and enable us to make more effective use of our specialist expertise.

A gradual integration of hull capabilities into our regional Business Units will strengthen co-ordination across product lines and support a more holistic offering for our members and brokers.  As we approach our 130th year, Skuld has never been stronger in terms of scale and breadth of products. These changes build on the strengths that have brought us to where we are today and will help us continue to safeguard and support our members through a resilient and future-ready organisation.

Yours faithfully,
