Skuld Energy team

Christofer has been with Skuld since 2005 and is the global head of Skuld Energy. Before joining Skuld, Christofer worked as a legal advisor for the Norwegian Maritime Directorate. Christofer is a qualified Norwegian lawyer with expertise in Norwegian and English maritime law.

Katinka is a qualified Norwegian lawyer who has been with Skuld for more than 12 years, working exclusively in the Skuld energy team. She started as an assistant Underwriter, and after 2 years joined the claims and contracts team. The energy team assists both Shipowners and Developers in the offshore wind industry, and has been partnering with those involved in offshore wind projects for more than 15 years, providing specific contract advice and claims services. Katinka has a wide experience of handling large liability claims for owners and operators, both in the renewable industry and the energy industry worldwide, and works closely with the underwriting team in assessing each of the risks. Katinka was seconded to A.P Møller Maersk’s Risk and Treasure department in 2017, where she gained experience with property risks and property insurances, such as construction all risks and operational all risks insurance policies for Maersk’s energy business.

Kate joined Skuld in 2013 with key responsibilities in underwriting, business development, and servicing members and clients in the Offshore and Energy sector for the APAC region. Prior to that, she worked as a claims handler for five years. 

Zoe joined Skuld as Head of Claims and Contracts in 2013. Before this role, she qualified as an English lawyer at an international law firm in London, where over seven years, she built up extensive experience in contentious matters in both shipping and energy. Zoe has played a crucial role in shaping the contract review service provided by the team and maintains a keen focus on ensuring that all members and clients receive the highest standard of service from the Claims and Contracts team. 

Adrian joined Skuld in 2018 as a Technical Manager and holds an MSc in Offshore Asset Management, along with a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Stavanger. With a robust background in the oil and gas industry, he has served as a Project Manager and Technical Superintendent for significant drilling projects. Adrian also brings QAHSE management experience from a subsea equipment manufacturer. 

Cato joined Skuld in January 2024 after having spent nearly 10 years as a lawyer in private practice. He has worked within the offshore and onshore energy space in law firms, energy companies, as well as Lloyd's Register

Elling joined Skuld as a Credit Controller in 2009 after completing his Master’s in Business Administration in Norway and South Africa, with focus on International Economics and Marketing. He transitioned to the Underwriting team in Germany in 2011, where he handled marine P&I accounts. From 2015 onward, Elling joined Skuld Energy as an Underwriter responsible for the European P&I portfolio, which includes Mobile Offshore Units, service, supply, and construction, including Wind Installation and other energy-related risks. 

Frida joined Skuld in September 2023 as a Claims Trainee after graduating from the University of Bergen with a master’s degree in law. She also has an LLM degree in International Business Law from King’s College London.   

Grace joined Skuld at the start of 2024, having previously worked as a lawyer in the Shipping department at an international law firm. She has experience dealing with contracts and claims both in the energy industry generally, and also the offshore wind sector. Grace previously spent a number of years working in Melbourne at a global leader in sustainable wind energy, focusing on onshore and offshore wind turbines.

Marianne joined Skuld in 2019 and is working in the Energy Team as a Senior Executive in Underwriting Operations. She previously had a similar role for eight years with an insurance broker and had almost 20 years of shipping experience on the chartering and operating side before that. 

Nik joined Skuld in 2016 and has underwriting responsibility for the London energy portfolio. The portfolio consists of drilling and production units involved in energy exploration and production, and vessels servicing the offshore and wind sector. Nik started his career at a Big 4 accounting firm where he worked in insurance audit. He then completed five years as P&I broker at a major broking house, before joining Skuld’s energy underwriting team. Nik has a law degree from the University of Manchester, has completed the Advanced Diploma in Insurance and is working towards the IG P&I Qualification.

Sian Lockett has been working in the P&I and marine reinsurance sector since the start of her career in 2013. She initially worked in the underwriting team at a London market marine insurer, before joining Skuld as part of the P&I underwriting team in 2016. She has been part of the energy underwriting team for the past 8 years, focussing on offshore P&I and offshore property damage covers for assureds involved in the offshore energy sector.

Sophia joined Skuld in 2018. She is an English qualified lawyer and, prior to joining Skuld, worked for several years at an international law firm in London specializing in shipping and energy law. 

Truls joined Skuld in 2020 as an Underwriter in the Energy department. Prior to that, he spent close to 10 years with Willis Towers Watson as a Marine & Offshore Energy Insurance broker specializing in both P&I and PD covers, with a predominant focus on Mobile Offshore Units. Truls holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Oslo, with specialization in International Maritime & Commercial Law from the University of Southhampton.
